Even though Ashtanga Yoga is a powerful sequence of asanas, Melanie has taught this yoga to beginners, people with severe arthritis as well as experienced practitioners. The yoga is only ever taught to the depth that the individual wants. Whatever level of practice this form of yoga takes, its systematic approach allows a slow, yet beautiful unfolding and release of tension from the body.
The clients that learn with Melanie are encouraged to practice at home so that they can find their own rhythm. Some people will develop a fast, vigorous and challenging practice and others may develop a slower, deeper controlled approach. There is no right or wrong – just you – and it is Melanie’s job to help find the right approach to suit you.
